The Hope English School CAREERS : APPLY NOW FOR THE LATEST VACANCIES

It is a great pleasure to welcome families, students, and members of the wider community to The Hope English School, part of the Northpoint Education family of schools. Joining this school as Principal is both an honour and a responsibility, and it is a privilege to become part of a community with such a strong commitment to children and their future.

Education has been at the centre of my professional life for more than thirty years. During this journey, I have had the opportunity to work with schools and communities in Canada, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Each experience has offered valuable lessons about leadership, learning, relationships, and the importance of creating a school environment in which every child can thrive. Academic preparation, including a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration, has further strengthened this experience.

At Hope, the central priority is simple: every child deserves to feel secure, respected, encouraged, and recognised for their individual abilities. Children learn best when they feel confident enough to ask questions, make mistakes, explore new ideas, and take on challenges. A positive school culture can make a lasting difference to both academic progress and personal development.

The Hope English School offers a British curriculum within an inclusive and welcoming environment in Sharjah. From the Foundation Stage through Year 8, learners are given opportunities to develop knowledge, practical skills, creativity, independence, and confidence. High expectations are balanced with appropriate support, allowing children with different strengths, interests, and learning needs to make meaningful progress.

Academic success remains an important part of school life, but education extends far beyond examination results. Young people also need communication skills, emotional awareness, resilience, respect for others, and the confidence to make responsible choices. These qualities help children understand different perspectives and prepare them to participate positively in an increasingly connected world.

The British curriculum provides a strong foundation for curiosity and lifelong learning. Through engaging lessons, enrichment opportunities, creative experiences, and meaningful interaction, students are encouraged to look beyond the classroom and develop a genuine interest in the world around them. Learning becomes more meaningful when children understand how knowledge can be applied to real situations.

A strong partnership between school and home is equally important. Parents play a significant role in shaping attitudes towards learning, behaviour, confidence, and personal responsibility. Open communication and mutual trust can create the consistency children need to feel supported and motivated.

The future will bring opportunities as well as challenges. Preparing children for that future requires more than teaching academic subjects; it requires the development of character, adaptability, independence, and self-belief. The Hope English School is committed to nurturing these qualities while helping every learner discover personal strengths and pursue individual aspirations.

The journey ahead is an exciting one. With dedicated teachers, supportive families, enthusiastic learners, and a shared belief in the power of education, Hope can continue to provide children with a strong foundation for the years ahead. Every student has something valuable to contribute, and every achievement—large or small—deserves to be recognised and celebrated.
