Kuwait United Dairy Company CAREERS : APPLY NOW FOR THE LATEST VACANCIES

Kuwait United Dairy Company stands as the largest dairy farm in the State of Kuwait and represents one of the country’s most significant agricultural institutions. Established in 1961, the company has played a central role in supporting national food security and ensuring a stable supply of high-quality raw milk for more than six decades. Today, the organization is undergoing a comprehensive restructuring and modernization program aimed at enhancing productivity, sustainability, and operational efficiency while aligning with international dairy industry standards.

The origins of Kuwait’s dairy sector are closely connected to the early years of the nation’s independence. During the 1960s, Kuwait experienced a period of rapid development, ambition, and nation-building, as new projects were launched to meet the growing needs of society. In this environment of opportunity and responsibility, the importance of food security became increasingly evident. Mr. Yaqoub Yousef Al-Humaidhi recognized the strategic value of agricultural self-reliance and directed his vision toward investment in dairy, livestock, poultry, meat, and animal feed projects. This forward-thinking approach laid the groundwork for the establishment of a modern dairy enterprise capable of serving Kuwait’s long-term needs.

On October 29, 1964, the Kuwait Dairy Company was formally established through a partnership between the Al-Humaidhi, Al-Qatami, and Al-Khaled families. Initial production began on a modest scale with approximately 200 head of cattle. However, strong demand, effective management, and a commitment to quality led to rapid growth. Within a short period, herd numbers increased to 600 head, accompanied by the construction of a fully integrated and modern dairy factory dedicated to the production of fresh milk and dairy products. From its inception, Mr. Jassim Abdulaziz Al-Qatami assumed leadership responsibilities and guided the company for nearly forty years, establishing the operational foundations and values that continue to shape its success.

A major transformation occurred in 1978 as milk production volumes increased across Kuwait and additional dairy farms emerged. This development prompted a strategic decision to integrate several farms under one organizational structure. As a result, company capital was increased from 100,000 Kuwaiti dinars to 450,000 Kuwaiti dinars, reflecting confidence in future growth and expansion. At the same time, a clear operational separation was introduced between farming and processing activities. The processing facility retained the name Kuwait Dairy Company, while the farming operations adopted a new identity as Kuwait United Dairy Company, each operating independently with separate boards of directors.

In the present day, Kuwait United Dairy Company is entering a new phase defined by innovation, modernization, and ambitious leadership. The focus on continuous improvement has resulted in significant expansion of livestock capacity, with the cattle herd growing to approximately 3,000 head. Advanced infrastructure investments have also been made, including the installation of Kuwait’s first state-of-the-art rotating milking parlor, capable of milking 60 cows simultaneously. This technology enhances efficiency, improves animal welfare, and ensures consistent milk quality in line with global best practices.

Human capital remains a cornerstone of operational success. The workforce includes experienced veterinarians, agricultural specialists, skilled farm workers, and professional management personnel who work collectively to maintain high standards of animal health, hygiene, and productivity. Continuous professional development is emphasized through training programs and collaboration with international experts, ensuring that industry best practices are consistently applied.

Quality management and operational excellence are further reinforced through internationally recognized certifications, including ISO 9001:2015, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality assurance, process control, and customer satisfaction. These standards support the company’s mission to supply safe, reliable, and high-quality raw milk to the Kuwaiti market.

With a legacy dating back to 1961, Kuwait United Dairy Company continues to serve as a pillar of the national food system.
