The launch of the new facility follows Amazon’s announcement with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) in November last year, which described the opening of the region’s most technologically developed fulfilment centre that will open its doors in the capital by the end of. 2023. As part of Amazon’s commitment to be carbon neutral across all of its operations by 2040, the building was designed to make energy efficiency a top priority. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning are controlled by digital building management system centres to ensure a pleasant working environment while reducing unnecessary energy consumption. Today, the Amazon network in the United Arab Emirates includes two fulfilment centres, three sorting centers, eight delivery stations and a network of delivery service partners.
